"...By The New York Times: WASHINGTON, March 1 - The commander of American forces in the Middle
East said Tuesday that Syria was not doing enough to halt the flow of
fighters into Iraq, nor to arrest or expel Iraqi insurgent leaders on
its territory."
That is an excerpt from a New York Times article (I used the headline to title this post), and the General is right: Syria is most certainly not doing enough. In fact, it has become quite clear that Syria is not only turning a blind eye to the problems in Iraq, but fascilitating the insurgency (see here, and here)! While I cannot say that I hope for war, I certainly think that Syria's actions in fascilitating the violence in Iraq constitute an act of war against both Iraq and the US-led coalition currently in Iraq. This being the case, I would not be upset if Damascus awoke one morning to find several elements of its military and intelligence infrastructure reduced to smoldering craters.
Syria be warned: the world is watching, and we are taking note. And one day there will be an accounting. Now is the time to decide, do you wish to improve the condition of your country and of your citizens, or do you intend to continue down this path that will end in your destruction: either through sanctions or war. Choose wisely.
